Volvo Cars have revealed the new Volvo V60. It is five-door, mid-size premium estate which combines good looks with everyday practicality. The car was launched in its natural habitat – the driveway of a family home in Stockholm.
The new Volvo V60 is built on Volvo Cars’ Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform which it shares with the award-winning new XC60 and three top-of-the-line 90 series cars. The SPA-based Volvo V60 comes with a luxurious interior, increased levels of space, advanced connectivity, and Volvo Cars’ latest driver-support systems and other safety technology.
The Volvo V60 comes with two plug-in hybrid powertrain options echoing the company’s vision to electrify all new cars from 2019. The new T6 Twin Engine AWD petrol plug-in hybrid generates a combined 340 hp while the T8 Twin Engine AWD petrol plug-in hybrid delivers 390 hp. It also comes with the choice of T5 or T6 petrol powertrains and D3 or D4 engines for those who prefer diesel.
When it comes to safety Volvo Cars has always been seen as the industry leader. The new V60 estate gets a comprehensive list of standard safety features. It also includes advanced driver-support systems available on the 90 series and XC60 models.
The new Volvo V60 features City Safety with Autobrake technology, Pilot Assist system, Run-off-Road Mitigation, Oncoming Lane Mitigation and optional Cross Traffic Alert system.
The V60 is also equipped with the Sensus infotainment system which is compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and is 4G enabled. This system is controlled via an intuitive tablet-style touch screen that combines car functions, navigation, connected services and entertainment apps.
2019 Volvo V60 Price & Launch Date:
UK prices for the Volvo V60 will start at £31,810 on the road. Full pricing and specification details will be announced shortly. First customer deliveries are expected in Q3 2018.
