Mercedes-Benz, the leading luxury car maker in India, has launched the most versatile E-Class of all time – the all-new E-Class All-Terrain. The company had showcased the car at the 2018 Auto Expo.

The new Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain is priced at INR 75 Lakh (ex-showroom India).
The new E-Class All-Terrain E 220 d 4MATIC is equipped with the 1950cc OM 654, four-cylinder, BS VI compliant diesel engine that produces a power of 143 kW (194 hp) at 3800 rpm and 400 Nm at 1600 – 2800 rpm. The go-anywhere station wagon comes with 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission and the 4MATIC AWD system as standard.
The rugged looking estate can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 8 seconds. Mercedes-Benz claims that the new E-Class All-Terrain can achieve a top speed of 231 km/h.
The new model combines striking looks of an SUV with the intelligent space concept of a station wagon. It features a rugged looking exterior and gets the SUV-style twin-louvre grille. The three-part front bumper houses an under guard electroplated in silver-chrome which adds to its off-road-ready appearance.
At the side, the station wagon gets black wheel claddings and a robust looking side skirt cover. The three-part bumper at the rear also features outer load sill protection and a visual underride guard which is electroplated in silver-chrome.
This first-of-its-kind vehicle from Mercedes-Benz also comes with a special model-specific feature – All-Terrain transmission mode which is inspired from the Mercedes-Benz GLE range and offers off-road drive settings.
Inside, the new model features all of the intelligent luggage space solutions of the E-Class Estate. The All-Terrain model gets a special trim element in an aluminium-carbon-fibre look, stainless steel sports pedals with rubber studs and also floor mats with All-Terrain lettering. The equipment of the All-Terrain is based on the AVANTGARDE interior line, EXCLUSIVE and designo options are also available.
The E-Class All-Terrain is also equipped with AIRBODY Control suspension and large 19-inch wheels with higher sidewalls which help in increasing ride comfort on rough roads. The suspension height can be varied between 121 mm to 156 mm.
The new E-Class All-Terrain has DYNAMIC SELECT as a standard feature. This system allows the driver to select from 5 different driving modes which include Comfort, ECO, Sport, All-Terrain and Individual.
The Mercedes-Benz estate is also equipped with Active Brake Assist, Pre-Safe, Attention Assist and several other Driving Assistance functions such as Drive Pilot, Active Emergency Stop Assist and Active Lane-change Assistant among other features.
