New Mercedes-Benz S-Class Facelift launched in India; Prices start from INR 1.33 Crore

Mercedes Benz India has launched the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class in the country. Earlier the company had launched Mercedes-Maybach S 650 and S 560 at the Auto Expo 2018.

The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift is available in two variants – S350 d and S 450. They have been priced at INR 1.33 Crore and 1.37 Crore respectively. The New Mercedes-Benz S 350 d is also the first ever Made-In-India, BS VI compliant vehicle.

The BS-VI compliant S 350d is powered by a new OM 656, 6-cylinder diesel engine. It is said to be the most powerful passenger car diesel engine used by Mercedes-Benz India and is made by Force Motors.

This 2925 cc motor develops 282 bhp and develops 600 Nm. It can also run on the currently available BS IV fuel as well. It is mated to a 9-speed ZF automatic gearbox. The S 350d can touch 100 km/h from zero in just 6 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h.

The Mercedes-Benz S 450 gets its power from a V6 petrol engine with twin turbocharging and intercooling. This engine churns out 362 bhp and 500Nm of torque. It is also coupled to a 9-speed ZF automatic gearbox and can reach 250 km/h. The 100 km/h from zero can be attained in just 5.1 seconds.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift comes with new headlamps and tail lamps and gets revised front and rear bumpers as well. There is also the new front grille and new stylish looking alloys wheels to enhance its looks further.

Inside, the facelifted S-Class gets two new 12.3-linch high definition screens which function as the infotainment system as well as the central command unit.

The luxury car also gets wood options for interior trim and leather options for the seats and the side panels. The updated Mercedes-Benz S-Class also gets new seats with a new fragrance function along with the cooled, heated and massaging options.

The new S-Class also comes with the latest generation of radar-based driving assistance systems. These driving aids help reduce the risk of accidents while enhancing protection for the passengers as well as other road users.

The new 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class will be locally made in India at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Chakan, Pune. This is the only other plant in the world which produces the S-Class outside Europe.
