Mercedes Benz India has launched the new Mercedes-Maybach S 650 and S 560 in India at the Auto Expo 2018. The cars are priced at INR 2.73 crores and INR 1.94 Crores respectively.
The Mercedes-Maybach S 650 will arrive in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) while the S 560 will be locally made in India at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Chakan, Pune. This is the only other facility around the world, the other being Germany where the Mercedes-Maybach S 560 will be assembled.
The Mercedes-Maybach S 560 is powered by a 4.0L V8 biturbo petrol engine which produces 469 PS and 700 Nm of torque. The Mercedes-Maybach S 650 gets its power from a 6.0-Litre AMG V12 engine that develops 630 PS of power and a whopping 1000 Nm of torque.
Both these models are based on the new Mercedes S-class. It features revised bumpers and front grill. With a length of 5462 mm and a wheelbase of 3365 mm, the flagship of the Mercedes-Benz model range exceeds the long-wheelbase S-Class Saloon by 20 cm in both dimensions.
The side contours of the Maybach are a major distinguishing feature versus the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Compared to the long version of the S-Class, the rear door has been shortened by 66 mm and discreetly integrated into the exterior design. The door has no triangular window. This has been relocated to the C-pillar.
The multi-beam LED headlamps with three prominent light and LED tail lamps also get minor tweaks. The S 650 is equipped with advanced telematics, driver-assist features like a radar-based driving assistance system, Magic Roof and Magic Body Control
