Triumph Motorcycles India has launched the new Speed Twin in the country. With the launch of this bike, the legendary Speed Twin name from 1883 returns to the Triumph line up.

The new Speed Twin is available in 3 colour options – Jet Black, Korosi Red and Storm Grey & Silver Ice and Storm Grey. The last two options get hand painted graphite coachline.

The new Speed Twin brings together all the modern custom style of Triumph’s Street Twin with even more stunning finishes and detail, all the comfort and timeless DNA of the Bonneville T120 but with more engaged ergonomics, and all the power and torque of the Thruxton R in an even more accessible modern setup.

The new Speed Twin has a particularly beautiful modern custom style which is infused throughout with Triumph’s timeless DNA and designed with a stunning contemporary stripped-back style and poise. Central to its evocative high quality looks is the incredible level of finish and the exquisite detailing that combine to add an extra style dimension to your riding experience.

A host of premium aluminium features and a blend of sensitively engineered touches combine to create the Speed Twin’s superb aesthetic appeal, making this a bike that sets a new standard in contemporary Bonneville design.

The motorcycle features brushed aluminium front and rear mudguards, throttle body covers, side panel finishers, and heel guards. It also gets bright anodised forged aluminium headlight brackets, clear anodised aluminium swingarm and 7-spoke aluminium wheels. Other high quality stylish touches include a Monza-style fuel cap, painted headlamp bowl and bezel, and handlebar clamp badge.

The 2019 Triumph Speed Twin is powered by a 1200 cc, Liquid-cooled, 8 valve, SOHC, 270° crank angle parallel-twin engine. This motor makes 97PS (72kW) @ 6,750rpm and 112 Nm @ 4,950 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Stopping power comes from Twin 305 mm discs with Brembo 4-piston fixed calipers at front and a single 220mm disc with Nissin 2-piston floating caliper at the rear. The motorcycle also features Anti-locking Braking System (ABS), and switchable traction control.
At the front the bike is suspended on 41mm cartridge forks with 120mm travel and Twin shocks with adjustable preload with 120mm wheel travel carry out the suspension at the rear.

The new Speed Twin also comes with a host of advanced technology. It gets LED lightning and Three rider modes – Road, Rain, and Sport – that adjust throttle map and traction control settings to suit conditions and rider preference. In addition, feature-packed twin clocks, immobiliser and a USB socket are all included as standard.
