New 2018 Triumph Tiger 800 XR, XRx & XCx Launched in India; Prices start from INR 11.76 Lakh

Triumph Motorcycles India has launched the new Tiger 800 lineup in India. The adventure tourer has been introduced with comprehensive upgrades at a base price of INR 11.76 Lakh for the XR variant.

Triumph Tiger 800 XRx Blue Front Quarter 2018

At the moment, the company has launched the XR, XRx and XCx variants. The top of the line XCa variant will be introduced in future. The bikes will arrive as CKD units and assembled at Triumph India’s plant in Manesar.

The 2018 Tiger 800 line-up, from outside might look similar to the previous generation but underneath it gets more than 200 upgrades to the chassis and engine. The motorcycle features new badges and graphics along with new colours.

The new Tiger 800 also comes with a 5-inch full-colour TFT instrument cluster, new signature all-LED lightning, new backlit and ergonomically designed handlebar switches and five-way joystick. The bike also comes with five-way adjustable windscreen and aero diffusers.

The 2018 Triumph Tiger 800 is powered by the same engine as on the outgoing model. This 800cc in-line three-cylinder motor produces 94 PS at 9500 rpm and 78.8 Nm of torque at 8050 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox which gets a shorter first gear ratio delivering improved offroad traction and all-road acceleration.

The adventure motorcycle also gets up to six riding modes including the new Off Road Pro mode. It also features enhanced cruise control, Ride-by-wire throttle and heated grips among other features. The exhaust system is lighter and made freer flowing which also produces a better sound.

The Triumph Tiger 800 XCx gets adjustable WP suspension at both ends, while the XRx and XR variants are equipped with Showa suspension. The XRx, XCx also get Brembo front brakes while the base XR model is fitted with Nissin callipers.
