2018 Renault Kwid range Launched in India; Comes with new features

Renault has launched the updated version of the Kwid in India with new features. The 2018 Renault Kwid will be available in both manual and automated transmission (AMT) options. It is available in 8 trims with segment-first features at no additional price.

The 2018 Renault Kwid RXT(O) variant now comes with new razor edge chrome front grille highlighting the Renault diamond logo. In terms of standard features, the mid-level and top-end variants get body coloured bumpers, full wheel covers and front fog lamps.

The Renault Kwid Climber gets a distinct body design. It gets a ‘Climber’ insignia and protection claddings on the doors along with orange exterior mirrors, rugged fog lamp housings, and silver finish with orange highlights on the front bumper. The roof rails get matching orange detailing as well.

The 2018 Renault Kwid range also comes with Rear ELR (Emergency Locking Retractor) across all the variants, which allows the rear seat belt to freely extend and retract with occupant movement, yet locks the belt during a sudden stop or upon impact. The other segment-first equipment that notches up the novelty aspect is the Rear Camera, which is available in the variants – RXT (O) and Climber. The rear camera will assist in parking effortlessly and safely.

In addition, the AMT variants of the Renault KWID 2018 Range comes equipped with the essential Traffic Assist which helps the vehicle to crawl forward in slow moving traffic and also prevents it from rolling back on slopes.

In addition, variant equipment has been upgraded with new features so that customers have a wide array of choices without incurring any additional cost. The RXL variant gets additional upgrades like Front Power window, Remote Central Locking whereas the RXT(O) variant gets Rear 12V socket and stylised chrome near the gear knob. The Kwid Climber gets the similar upgradations with an additional Rear Armrest for extra comfort and convenience.

Other features include a 7-inch touchscreen Media NAV system, digital Instrument cluster, one-touch lane change indicator, radio speed-dependent volume control and pro-sense seatbelt pre-tensioners with load limiters. The range-topping variants get power steering, 3 and 4 Speed Manual AC, ORVM passenger side, engine immobilizer, single din audio with Bluetooth and telephony, front speakers and a 12V power socket.

2018 Renault Kwid Rear Bumper

The 2018 Renault Kwid continues to be powered by the 0.8 litre and 1.0-litre SCe (Smart Control Efficiency) petrol engines. The 0.8L engine produces 54 bhp @ 5678 rpm and 72 Nm @ 4386 rpm while the 1L motor generates 68 PS @ 5500 rpm and 91 Nm @ 4250 rpm. Both engines come with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.

Customers can also opt for the Easy-R Gear Box which is a 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) technology available with the 1.0-litre SCe engine. It comes with an easy to use and Innovative Shift Control Dial with three modes – Reverse, Neutral and Drive

The Kwid has a spacious boot with a capacity of 300 litres and the 180 mm of ground clearance help it to tackle bad roads quite well. The 2018 Renault Kwid also comes with a 4 year / 1 lakh km (whichever is earlier) warranty along with Road Side Assistance at no extra cost. This includes the regular 2 years / 50,000 km comprehensive warranty along with an additional 2 years / 50,000 km extended warranty.

2018 Renault Kwid Colours:

Customers can choose from 5 exciting colour options – Fiery Red, Planet Grey, Moonlight Silver, Ice Cool White, Outback Bronze. The Kwid Climber is available in Electric Blue.
