Volkswagen has introduced the VW Vento Sport in India. The Sport trim is position above the Highline Plus variant and is now the new top-spec trim.

To distinguish the VW Vento Sport from the regular model, Volkswagen has added with a number of additional styling features. This model comes with carbon-fibre finish Outside Rear View Mirrors, 16-inch Portago alloy wheels, chrome Sport badging on the front fenders, black stickers on the side, a glossy black rear spoiler and the roof is wrapped in gloss black vinyl.
Equipment levels are on par with the Highline Plus grade. The VW Vento Sport features LED headlamps with DRLs and LED inserts in the tail-lamps. It also gets touchscreen infotainment system, electrically foldable and adjustment able ORVMs, leatherette seat upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob, chrome interior accents and a rear parking camera.
Mechanically the VW Vento Sport is same as the regular model. It comes with three engine options – 1.6-litre petrol engine developing 105 PS and 153 Nm which is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, 1.2-litre TSi petrol engine which develops 105 PS and 174 Nm which is coupled to the 7-Speed DSG gearbox and 1.5-litre TDi engine which generates 110 PS and 250 Nm and is mated to either a 5-speed manual or the DSG gearbox.

By the way, if you haven’t noticed, one of the pic shows the Vento doing a burnout using its rear wheels which isn’t possible since the car is a front wheel drive. This is a mistake at VW India’s creative end.

Yes it is indeed a FWD. This pic is officially shared by VW India. Someone heading the creative department has made a big mistake. I’ll update about it at the end of the article.
