Suzuki ECSTAR, the company’s global brand of lubricants, coolant and car care products have been launched in India. These branded products will be available for both Maruti Suzuki as well as Suzuki Motorcycle customers.
Initially, Maruti Suzuki will offer ECSTAR products to its customers via the newly launched NEXA Service Centers. Progressively, the ECSTAR product range will be offered at the other Maruti Suzuki service network across the country. The company will also provide ECSTAR products through the authorized Suzuki two-wheeler service centers.
ECSTAR, the brand of high-performance engine oil and coolant and chemical products, was launched by Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan in 1984. In 2015, the company promoted ECSTAR as a global brand of high-quality products and at present, the Suzuki ECSTAR brand is widely marketed across Europe, America, Mexico, Australia and South East Asia.
“On our journey of transformation we have been bringing a range of new models and technologies. To ensure optimum performance of these new technologies we are now bringing a range of Suzuki global engine oils and lubricants. These products have undergone rigorous testing under extreme conditions. They offer great peace of mind to customers,” said Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki while introducing ECSTAR range of products to customers.

ECSTAR oil from Suzuki is a powerful lubricant that not only enhances the enactment of its vehicles, but with its optimal lubricant formulation, will offer customers outstanding engine protection, a longer life-cycle for their two-wheeler as well as lower maintenance and fuel costs. ECSTAR oil ensures durability and better performance even in unfavourable riding conditions like uneven roads, extreme weather conditions, combustion contaminants etc,” said Mr. Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. at the launch.
ECSTAR engine oils have been specially developed for Suzuki engines. They provide a blend of high-quality synthetic base oil additives that offer an improvement on the normal engine oil in friction characteristics, engine detergency and thermo stability.
Suzuki ECSTAR oil goes through rigorous tests that contribute to a superior performance, higher fuel economy and a clean, longer engine life by preventing sludge and deposits.
Some of the tests include:
High Speed and Full Power tests: Conducted to evaluate oil performance under high shear and high thermal load conditions
Deposit test: Evaluates the influence of deposits formed on various engine parts
Friction test and brake specific fuel consumption or BSFC mapping: Measures friction loss behavior and efficiency improvement.
Furthermore, the innovative lubricating technology helps achieve thermal stability, hence delivering ultimate engine protection. It also assists the vehicle while starting the engine in cold climate and keeps it trouble free for a long time.
The range of Suzuki ECSTAR products will be procured from select local suppliers in India. These suppliers will undergo stringent tests to qualify their products to be included under ECSTAR umbrella.
In the initial phase the range of ECSTAR products will include Injector cleaner, automatic transmission oil, underbody coat and screen wash for the cars. For motorcycles which includes all Gixxer models as well as the big bkes such as the Suzuki Hayabusa, GSX-R1000 and GSX-R1000R, the company will provide ECSTAR R9000 (10W40) which will be available at the authorized Suzuki Two-wheeler dealerships. More products will be added to the ECSTAR range in India progressively.
