MG (Morris Garages) Motor India has today launched its first product in the country. The MG Hector SUV comes at a competitive introductory starting price of INR 12.18 Lakhs.
The MG Hector is available in a total of 11 combinations across 4 variants namely Style, Super, Smart and Sharp. It comes with 3 engine options – Petrol, Petrol Hybrid and Diesel. The petrol is available in both manual and automatic transmissions.

MG Hector Fuel Efficiency:
The Hector Petrol Hybrid MT returns 15.81 km/l while the Hector diesel delivers 17.41 km/l, as per ARAI.
The MG Hector is India’s first internet car and comes the MG Shield ownership package which provides private owners free-of-charge 5-year comprehensive manufacturer warranty for unlimited kilometres. This is currently the best factory warranty for any vehicle sold in India. It also includes round-the-clock roadside assistance (RSA) for a period of 5 years and no labour charges for the first 5 scheduled vehicle services.
MG Motor India further offers prepaid maintenance plans starting as low as INR 8,000 for the first three years. Its total cost of ownership (TCO) is said to be the lowest in the segment starting at INR 45 paise per kilometre for the petrol and at INR 49 paise per kilometre for the diesel.
In addition, MG also assures customers of the resale value of the Hector at a compelling value proposition under the “3-60” plan. Under this plan, MG has tied up with automotive portal CarDekho and the latter will buyback the MG Hector at a residual value of 60% upon completion of three years of ownership. All these elements under “MG Shield” are aimed at enhancing the customer experience and providing complete peace of mind.
MG India has also tied up with Myles to offer the Hector on a subscription basis in select metro cities including Delhi, Mumbai & Bangalore over the next quarter.
Power for the MG Hector petrol model comes from a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine. This motor produces 143 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. It can be paired with either a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed DCT.
Hector Hybrid variant comes with the same petrol engine but only with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 48V hybrid system gets functions such as Engine Auto Start/Stop, Regenerative Braking and E-Boost.
The MG Hector diesel model is powered by a 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engine. This motor makes 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. It is coupled to a 6-speed transmission.

The new MG Hector will be available in 5 colour options – Candy White, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, Burgundy Red and Glaze Red.
