All-new Hyundai ix25 (Next-gen Hyundai Creta) showcased at Auto Shanghai 2019

Beijing Hyundai Motor Company (BHMC) has unveiled the all-new Hyundai ix25 (Next-gen Hyundai Creta) at Auto Shanghai 2019. The new model is based on Hyundai Motor’s new design philosophy – Sensuous Sportiness. It also spearheads the company’s ‘New Era’ theme for the event, which highlights new and future technologies.

The all-new Hyundai ix25 compact SUV also premieres in new ‘sporty and muscular’ form. The new model expresses Hyundai Motor’s Sensuous Sportiness design language through elegance and flowing lines, using light as the defining styling feature inside and out. From its strong, shoulder line wheel arches and SUV-like ground clearance, to its unmistakably distinctive lighting design, it is a stylish model that will stand out from the crowd.

The new ix25 also takes some inspiration from the Hyundai Palisade. It gets a prominent grill at the front and a split headlamp setup where the DRLs have been placed on top of the main headlamp assembly. The DRLs have been also added to the headlight unit to give the SUV its signature light. The fog lamp assembly sits at the bottom of the bumper and in the centre, there is a silver coloured faux skid plate.

Moving to the side, we get to see a dual tone treatment for the roof. The A-pillars have been painted in black which gives the vehicle a floating roof effect. The SUV now gets squared wheel arches along with dual tone alloy wheels.

The rear design looks a bit busy but gives the new ix25 a very distinct look. The tail lamp assembly is again a split unit and gets a similar design as that of the headlamp. At the centre, a black strip runs along the width and gets a stop lamp integrated into it. The rear bumper gets fog lamps and reflectors embedded into it at the corners. The faux skid plate at the rear also gets a sort of a design element which represents vents to reduce the overall bulk of the rear end.

The showcase car’s interior gets a massive touchscreen panel in the centre console and is finished in a combination of beige and black. The SUV also gets a new steering wheel design. Quality along with fit and finish is expected to be top-notch like other Hyundai products.

Powertrain details and feature list of this China-spec SUV will be released close to the launch date which happens to be in the second half of this year. In India, the next-generation Hyundai Creta is expected to hit the market in 2020.
