Hero Xpluse 200T unveiled along with a range of customised bikes at EICMA 2018

Hero MotoCorp Ltd. Has unveiled its new product offering, the Hero XPulse 200T at the 2018 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy.

The Hero XPulse 200T is a Tourer motorcycle that offers customers modern technology in retro styling. The new XPulse 200T is said to offer a comfortable riding posture with a focus on ergonomics, and loading capability with its large luggage plate. The motorcycle comes with features such as single channel ABS, LED head and tail lamps, digital speedometer with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.

Providing a directional glimpse into its future roadmap, Hero MotoCorp also showcased four customized motorcycle concepts that promise to make premium and niche motorcycle segments accessible to the customer. The four motorcycles, built through a collaborative approach with global design houses, might also prove integral to growing the Company’s new vertical – the Accessories business.

The four custom motorcycles – a Cafe Racer Concept, a Desert Concept, a Scrambler Concept and a Flat-Track Concept. These concept motorcycles have been designed and developed on the XPulse 200T platform, which display the potential of a brand extension of the platform through variants and accessories. It also enables the company to develop and co-create youthful new variants, which can act as the right vehicle to focus on specific customer needs and markets across the globe.

Earlier, Hero MotoCorp had launched the Xtreme 200R (‘Hunk 200’ in markets outside Asia) in India which is a youthful city motorcycle. The XPulse 200T, on the other hand, is a touring motorcycle, while the XPulse 200 caters to the adventurers beyond paved roads. Both XPulse 200 and XPulse 200T are likely to be launched in the market towards the beginning of next year.

Hero MotoCorp also showcased its new range of 125cc scooters, the Hero Duet 125 and the Hero Dash 125 at the EICMA show. These products will be sold as the Destini 125 and Maestro Edge 125 respectively in the Indian market.

Going ahead, we plan to set the benchmark in the high-capacity premium segments as well, like we have done in the other segments.”

Unveiling the new XPulse 200T here at EICMA, Mr. Malo Le Masson, Head of Global Product Planning, Hero MotoCorp, said “The Adventure and Touring motorcycle segments are very popular across the world and here we are showcasing Hero’s vision for these segments with the XPulse 200T based on our unique XPulse platform. We aim to further expand this platform and more products to our portfolio by the second quarter of the next year. Concurrently, we have used the new XPulse 200T for a unique initiative of co-creating diverse Concepts with customization specialist and showcased the engineering prowess of developing a versatile platform. This also provides us an opportunity to capture the growing trend of direct customer engagement while opening the door to a new line of businesses.
