BMW has launched the M2 Competition in India. The two-door sports car which is the first in the BMW 2 series model range to be introduced in the Indian market will be imported as a completely built unit (CBU).

The two-door sports car is priced at INR 79.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
The BMW M2 Competition is powered by a 3.0-litre, in-line 6-cylinder engine that produces 410 hp @ 5,250-7,000 rpm and 550 Nm of torque @ 2,350-5,230 rpm. The engine sends all this power to the real wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox which comes with paddle shifters. The driver also has a choice of three driving modes – Comfort, Sport and Sport+. The company claims that the car can do 0-100kph in just 4.2 seconds, while top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
Being an M model, the sportier variant of the 2 series coupe gets some distinct features such as the M body kit which adds larger vents and gives an aggressive look to the car along with gloss black kidney grille, M side vent with M2 badges and M ORVMs with LED indicators.
The sports car also gets a rear spoiler, double round exhausts tips in black chrome and M2 Competition badge at the rear. Other exterior features of the BMW M2 Competition includes adaptive LED headlights, 19-inch Y spoke style forged alloy wheels, larger disc rotors with brake callipers finished in grey and BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line
The M2 Competition gets the valve-operated, M sports exhaust system which delivers either a particularly sporty or more low-key engine sound, depending on the driver’s preference. The front end strut brace made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP), significantly increases frontend rigidity and contributes to greater steering precision and accuracy.
Inside, the cockpit of the M2 Competition comes equipped with M Sport seats dressed in black Dakota leather with illuminated M2 badges and M seat belts. The headliner is finished in Anthracite and the car gets trims in Gloss black and Pearl Chrome finishes to enhance the car’s sporty appeal. It also gets a red engine start/stop button, M door sill finishers and M steering wheel wrapped in leather.
The two seater sports car also features a 6.5-inch infotainment system which is connected to a 7-speaker 205-watt audio system. Optionally, customers can get the 8.8-inch screen with Apple CarPlay connectivity, navigation and a 12-speaker 360-watt Harman Kardon audio system as well. BMW’s iDrive interface is fitted as standard, while iDrive with touch controller is available as an optional.
