Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has launched the 5th Generation Honda CR-V in the Indian market. This is also the first time that the Honda CR-V is introduced with a diesel engine option in India.

The SUV is available in 3 variants and is equipped with powertrains in both Diesel and Petrol options. The petrol variant is available only as a 5 seater while the Diesel gets a third row and is able to seat 5+2 passengers.
The new Honda CR-V petrol variant is powered by the 2.0L, SOHC, i-VTEC, 4-cylinder engine which produces 154 PS @ 6500 rpm and 189 Nm of torque @ 4300 rpm. This motor is mated to a CVT automatic transmission. Honda claims the CR-V petrol model will deliver a fuel efficiency of 14.4 kmpl.
The new CR-V diesel model gets the 1.6L, DOHC, i-DTEC, 4-cylinder, turbo engine. It generates 120 PS @4000 rpm and a torque of 300 Nm @ 2000 rpm. This engine comes with the Shift by Wire nine-speed automatic transmission. The 2WD variant delivers a fuel efficiency of 19.5 kmpl while the AWD option delivers 18.3 kmpl.

The CR-V is available in a choice of 5 exterior colours – Golden Brown Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, and White Orchid Pearl.
The all-new Honda CR-V boasts a comprehensive range of advanced and luxurious features such as the 3-mode Panoramic Sunroof, LED headlights, turn lights, tail lights & brake lights and LED Daytime Running Lights. It also offers the segment-first Full-Size Driver Information Interface with advanced features like Driver Attention Monitor, Torque Distribution Display etc. and advanced standard safety equipment.
The new Honda CR-V sports a dynamic look. Compared to the previous generation, the new model displays an aggressive attitude, thanks to crisper and sharper front-end design elements, aggressive stylized headlights, surrounded by a wing-shaped LED DRL, and wide, muscular fenders. The long hood, longer wheelbase and short rear overhang give the new CR-V an upscale presence. The SUV runs on sporty looking 18-inch aluminium alloy wheels.
Other features available with the new CR-V include 7-inch colour touchscreen Display Audio system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 8 speakers including 4 tweeters and Electric Parking Brake.
Additionally, the SUV also gets 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with 4-way lumbar support, Push start/Stop with Smart entry, Dual-zone automatic air conditioner and multiple USB charging ports.
The new Honda also gets Paddle Shift which is exclusive to the diesel model and Remote Engine Starter which comes only in the petrol variant.
Inside, the new CR-V has been crafted luxuriously. It features Leather upholstery, Piano black and Wooden finish centre console trim. The new interior design with 5+2 seating option in a three-row configuration is available with the diesel engine only. The diesel model also gets an Air-conditioning system for both 2nd and 3rd row of seating for more comfort.
The All New Honda CR-V is equipped with a wide range of Honda’s premium active safety, passive safety and driver-assistive features and are offered as standard equipment across all three variants.
The SUV gets 6 Airbags, Driver Attention Monitor, Honda LaneWatch, Multi-angle rearview camera, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with First in Segment Agile Handling Assist.
It also gets Motion-Adaptive Electric Power Steering (EPS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), ISO Fix anchorages, Rain-Sensing Wiper Auto-Dimming IRVM and Pedestrian Safety – Pedestrian injury mitigation technology.
The new CR-V also comes with Walk away door lock. This feature automatically locks the doors of the SUV when the driver leaves the vehicle with key FOB or when the key holder’s distance from the vehicle exceeds 6.5 feet for 2 seconds.
The new Honda CR-V is available with 3 years / Unlimited Kilometres warranty as standard. Customers can also get the Extended Warranty for an additional two years / Unlimited kilometres.
