Ather Energy has launched their flagship electric scooter Ather 450 along with the previously unveiled variant, the Ather 340 in India.
Limited pre-orders have opened on the company’s website and currently will be available only in Bangalore city. Test rides will begin from Friday, 8th June 2018 at AtherSpace experience centre at Indiranagar.
Ather 340 & Ather 450 Price:
The made in India electric scooters are currently priced at INR 1,09,750 for Ather 340 and INR 1,24,750 Lakh for Ather 450. This is inclusive of subsidy at INR 22,000, GST, road tax, smart card fee, registration card, and insurance.
Ather is offering a unique no-hassle, pricing model. The total cost includes what consumers pay upfront to buy the scooter and a monthly subscription that will take care of most operational expenses. The Ather One plan entitles customers to free public and home charging, periodic maintenance inclusive of consumables, breakdown assistance and unlimited data services for the dashboard at only INR 700 + GST per month.
For the first set of consumers, Ather Energy is offering the first year of the subscription plan for free. The company will also provide a home charging Point with the Ather 450 and a charging cable with the Ather 340. The price of these products and their installation will be waived off for these consumers.

The intelligent Ather 450 electric scooter is designed for city riding conditions. The key differentiator of this electric scooter is its intelligence features, seamless charging and ownership experience. It can fast charge to 80% at a rate of 1 km/minute. The electric scooters can be charged to 80% in 2 hours 40 minutes while to completely charge to 100% it takes 4 hours 18 minutes.
The Ather 450 is equipped with a BLDC motor which offers 20.5 Nm of instant torque and a peak power output of 5.4kW for cruising at top speed. The scooter has a range of 75 km and a top speed of 80 km/h. The scooter can accelerate from zero to 40 km/h in 3.9 seconds.
The electric scooter has been designed to solve for problems limiting current electric two-wheelers, like slow charging speeds, low powered motors, and short battery lives. The Ather 450 can comfortably ride up 18-degree slopes, making steep parking lots, flyovers, and roads an easy climb. Also for the first time in the category, Ather 450 comes with parking assist, which allows riders to reverse into tight parking locations.
The Ather 340 delivers a peak power of 4.4 kW and 20 Nm of torque. It has a top speed of 70 km/h and reaches 40 km/h from standstill in 5.1 seconds. This variant of the electric scooter has a gradeability of 15 degrees and a range of 60 km.
The Ather 450 features a 7-inch touchscreen dashboard that allows onboard navigation with options of alternative routes and saved locations. It also comes with the Ather app that enables push navigation from the phone to the vehicle dashboard, remote monitoring of the vehicle health, charge monitoring and managing service requirements. The scooter also gets over-the-air (OTA) functionality which allows it to improve over time with continuous improvement and addition of new features and functionalities.
The Ather 450 electric scooter comes with a home charging point that will be installed by the company at either the customer’s homes or workplace. Features like surge protection, authenticated power draw, and remote charge monitoring make Ather’s Point a fast, safe and intelligent charger.
Ather Energy has a new dealership and service model. While the ordering, payment, and test ride scheduling is online, the brand has opened its experience centre, AtherSpace to give customers an in-depth look and experience of the product. The servicing woes are also taken away by a seamless doorstep pickup and service that can be scheduled through the Ather app.
The Ather scooters run on 12-inch alloy wheels and get telescopic front forks and mono-shock at the rear. It is equipped with front and rear disc brakes with combined braking system (CBS). A precision machines hybrid chassis made from aluminium and steel underpins these electric scooters. It gets LED headlights and taillights. It also gets LED indicators with auto turn off feature.
The Ather 450 & Ather 340 come with a 2 Years or 30,000 km vehicle warranty and 3 Years or Unlimited km battery warranty.
