The Unstoppable Rise of Dacia
The automotive landscape is constantly shifting, but one brand continues to quietly—and profitably—rewrite the rulebook. Dacia, the reigning champion of no-nonsense mobility, has officially taken the covers off its ambitious “futuREady” strategic roadmap for 2030.
And if you thought they were resting on their laurels after moving a staggering 10 million vehicles globally since the launch of the Logan in 2004, think again. Fresh off a dominant 2025 where the Sandero claimed the crown as Europe’s best-selling passenger car across all channels for the second consecutive year, and the Bigster dominated retail C-SUV sales in the second half of the year, Dacia is doubling down on its winning formula.

The Secret Sauce: A Unique Business Model
How does Dacia keep winning while others struggle? It’s all in the math and the execution. The brand enjoys a massive structural cost advantage of 15% over the rest of the market. This isn’t just clever accounting; it’s a mix of highly utilized manufacturing plants and a razor-thin, lean distribution model that costs less than half of what Western European competitors spend.
It’s a strategy that breeds fierce customer loyalty. When it’s time for a new car, more than 70% of Dacia owners stick with the brand. Toss in those who upgrade to a Renault, and an impressive 80% of customers remain within the Renault Group ecosystem. Yet, they are still pulling in fresh blood, with 65% of buyers coming to Dacia for the first time from outside the Group. This dynamic has cemented Dacia as Europe’s second-largest automotive brand in the retail market.
The Electric Push: 4 New EVs by 2030
We all knew the electric wave was coming, and Dacia is riding it on its own highly pragmatic terms. By 2030, the brand will launch four fully electric vehicles.
The kickoff happens this year with a brand-new A-segment EV. Built in Europe on the Renault Group’s RGEV small platform, this new city EV was developed in a remarkably swift 16 months. But the real headline that will have competitors sweating? It’s going to start at under €18,000.
Dacia is also ramping up its broader electrification game across the entire lineup. Currently, one in four Dacias sold features some form of electrification. By 2030, they expect that figure to surge to two-thirds of all sales, utilizing full hybrid setups and smart electrified solutions.
Meet the Striker: Dacia’s C-Segment Disruptor
Perhaps the most exciting news from the futuREady event is Dacia’s aggressive push into the larger C-segment. Currently, these vehicles make up a fifth of their sales, but Dacia wants to boost that to a third. Enter the Dacia Striker.
Dacia has confirmed that this new multi-energy crossover will be fully revealed this June. Designed to be a complementary sibling to the Bigster, here is what we know so far:

- Design & Dimensions: The Striker measures 4.62 metres in length. It blends the practicality of a spacious hatchback, the ground clearance of an SUV, and the driving dynamics of a station wagon.
- Styling Cues: It will feature a fresh, modern daytime running light signature. It will also include unique front-door animations and a glossy black rear link between the taillamps that boasts a modern, technical grain.
- Powertrains: True to its multi-energy promise, the Striker will be available as a hybrid, a Hybrid 4×4, and an LPG variant.
- The Price Tag: In classic Dacia fashion, the Striker will significantly broaden access to electrified mobility with a starting price below the €25,000 mark.
The name “Striker” isn’t just a marketing buzzword; it’s derived from the universal phrase meaning “to strike” or “hit the mark,” reflecting the bold, challenging spirit of the brand.
The Future of Sandero and Core DNA
What about the undisputed king of European retail sales? The Sandero isn’t being left behind. Dacia confirmed that the next-generation Sandero will transition to a fully multi-energy powertrain lineup perfectly aligned with their EV roadmap. Most importantly, Dacia promises it will continue to be the value-for-money benchmark in its class.
Furthermore, Dacia is promising not to abandon its rugged roots. The brand’s widely recognized 4×4 expertise and its industry leadership in LPG solutions will remain core pillars of its future lineup.
The futuREady roadmap proves that Dacia is no longer just a budget alternative; it’s a confident, future-proof mobility powerhouse ready to strike its mark.
