The All-New Dacia Spring Electric offers more convenience and flexibility, having the best cargo space in its category and various smart features. It comes with a customizable digital dashboard that includes a 7-inch instrument display and a central 10-inch multimedia display.

This car is highly efficient and lightweight, featuring a 65 horsepower electric motor that consumes very little energy, just 14.6 kWh per 62 miles (WLTP).

Dacia’s first electric car, called Spring, is widely recognized for making electric cars available to everyone. It was first released in 2021 and became the third best-selling electric car to regular customers in 2022 and 2023. Since it was launched, over 140,000 Dacia Spring cars have been registered worldwide.

People appreciate the Spring  EV for its energy efficiency and low carbon footprint. In 2022, an independent European organization, Green NCAP, gave it the highest 5-star rating.

Dacia Spring EV is the ideal choice for those seeking a simple, affordable, and efficient zero-emission way of getting around. Information from the car’s connected systems reveals that, on average, Spring drivers travel about 23 miles per day at an average speed of 23 mph. Additionally, 75% of the time, people recharge their cars at home.

A More Robust, More ‘Dacia’ Design

Dacia is working on making their cars the best value for money and always improving what’s essential. For the new Spring EV, they want to make it easy for people to switch to electric cars. The way a car looks, along with how well it works, the price, and how practical it is, is important.

The All-New Spring Electric has the new Dacia design, which was first seen on the latest Duster. It has a strong and confident style that makes the Spring look better than before. Inside, the whole space has been changed a lot, but the only part outside that stayed the same is the roof.

David Durand, Dacia Design Director commented: “As Spring embraces the brand’s new design language, it is a resolute sign that it is here to stay as a key member of the Dacia family. We gave it a serious and confident design. Building on the success of the previous generation, the All-New Spring confidently asserts its own identity.”

Exterior Design: Solid, Modern, Smart

Dacia’s new design style brings a strong look to the Spring EV with well-defined shapes and structures. The clean and simple silhouette, especially on the sculpted bonnet, gives it a powerful appearance.

The new Dacia identity can be seen in the two black bands, one at the front and one at the rear, meeting in a glossy finish with specific matte stripes at the rear. These bands are highlighted by the brand’s iconic Y-shaped light signature, which stands out with the full-LED daytime running lights in the front and parking lights in the back.

The All-New Spring has a modern design, with additional decals on the front and rear bumpers for the Extreme trim. The 15-inch wheels have carefully designed wheel covers, adding to the strong and durable feel.

In line with Dacia’s philosophy, the All-New Spring Electric has a smart and sturdy design. For instance, the lower-door side protections are light, affordable, easy to install, and easy to replace. Dacia has removed decorative chrome parts and roof bars to reduce the car’s weight, improve aerodynamics, and increase its range, following their commitment to environmental impact reduction.

The car is offered in six different colors, including the newly introduced Brick Red and Beige Safari.

Interior Design: Fresh, Practical, Digital

The dashboard of the All-New Spring has been completely redesigned. It now incorporate elements from Dacia’s new interior design language, with a horizontal layout and new digital screens. The Spring EV now has a customizable digital dashboard with a 7-inch display in all versions, and higher trim models have a 10-inch multimedia central display. The interior colors and materials have been improved for better quality, while also reducing options to control costs, which is important for Dacia.

The All-New Spring Electric has full-body white elements, creating a fresh and modular atmosphere. These white elements are found around the instrument cluster, gear stick, and door bins. The iconic Dacia “Y” at the center of the air vents is in white (or copper on the Extreme trim). The central decorative accent on the instrument panel varies depending on the trim: Alto Gray on Essential, Brick Red on Expression, Dusty Khaki on Extreme.

The All-New Spring is made to be practical. The large touchscreen is placed high for easy use, and the design of the digital dashboard with a 7-inch display is simple and easy to understand, providing the driver with essential information. Additionally, the Spring has YouClip accessory mounts, and the Extreme trim includes durable rubber floor mats and door sills with a unique ‘topographic lines’ design.

Essential And Cool: Spring With The Best Value For Money

The All-New Spring sticks to its original idea: being an affordable, fully electric car that meets the real needs of drivers. Since it first came out in 2021, the All-New Spring has stayed the cheapest fully electric car you can buy.

Most importantly, even though it’s electric, the All-New Spring is still a car, and Dacia always keeps in mind the most important thing: how useful it is. It has the biggest storage space in its category. The trunk can fit a lot – 308 liters (6% more than the previous model), and when you fold down the back seats, it becomes 1,004 liters. That’s more than other cars of the same size and as much as B-segment models. Inside the car, there’s also nearly 33 liters of extra storage space, which is better than what’s normal for this type of car.

The All-New Spring has smart accessories that make the most of its storage. You can choose to have extra space under the front hood, giving you 35 more liters of storage. The center console can have a special cup holder made using modern 3D-printing technology.

The All-New Spring also uses Dacia’s smart YouClip system. It’s a simple and clever way to attach different accessories securely in key places inside the car. The All-New Spring comes with three YouClip anchor points (one on the dashboard, two on the center console). You can use them to put a storage pouch, a smartphone holder (with or without a wireless charger), or a useful 3-in-1 attachment that’s a cup holder, bag hook, and portable light all in one. You can get all these accessories at Dacia retail network.

To make driving easier, the All-New Spring EV has a customizable digital dashboard with a 7-inch display, located behind the new adjustable steering wheel. It shows important information in a simple and effective way. . It can be customised to show additional information such as remaining range, energy consumption, or driving assistance systems (ADAS). When the All-New Spring is charging, the digital dashboard shows the battery level and how much time is left until it’s fully charged.

On the Essential and Expression trims, there’s a feature called Media Control. It’s a multimedia system on the steering wheel with information about media and phone calls shown on the digital panel. It also has two speakers, Bluetooth connection, and a USB port. When connected to the free Dacia Media Control app, drivers can control radio and media using their smartphone, and even access features like navigation, all designed to be used while driving.

The Dacia Spring Extreme trim comes with the Media Nav Live system, which has a big 10-inch touch screen in the center. It includes smart navigation with real-time traffic updates and maps of Europe that stay updated for up to 8 years. It also allows wireless use of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Media Nav Live system has two USB ports.

New safety features, called ADAS, meet the latest European safety standards. These include an advanced emergency braking system that can detect vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcycles. There’s also traffic sign recognition, rear park assist, emergency stop signal, lane change alert, lane keep assist, driver attention warning, and emergency call (eCall). To make it easy for drivers, Dacia added a ‘My Safety’ button for quick access to their preferred safety settings.

Robust and Outdoors: More ‘Spring’ Than Ever!

The All-New Dacia Spring Electric is ready for both city streets and country roads. It’s small (3.70 meters long) and can turn really well (4.80 meters wall-to-wall), so it’s super easy to drive.

Its body is tough and can handle everyday use because of the solid-color protection strips around the bumpers and wheel arches. These help it stay in good shape even with regular wear and tear. The All-New Spring is also good for going on rough roads because it has high ground clearance.

You can get it with a 45 horsepower motor, or you can choose the more powerful 65 horsepower/48 kW motor. It accelerates quickly and can go from 0 to 62 mph in less than 14 seconds.

Eco-Smart: The New Spring Achieves Efficiency Through Lightness

The All-New Dacia Spring is designed to be light and efficient. It weighs only 984 kg in the top-level Extreme trim, making it the only fully electric car in Europe that’s under one tonne. Compared to the previous models with the same trim, the weight has only increased by 6 kg (or +0.6%), even with new safety features and upgraded trims.

The car is mindful of its weight, and with the efficient motor, the All-New Spring EV has excellent energy use, using less than 14.6 kWh for every 62 miles, which helps keep running costs low.

The compact 26.8 kWh battery is precisely adjusted to meet the needs of All-New Spring drivers without making the car too heavy. It has a range of over 137 miles for all versions (pending certification), which is more than enough for people who drive an average of just 23 miles per day.

To make the car’s range even better, the All-New Dacia Spring EV has a regenerative braking system for the first time, activated by selecting the ‘B-mode’ through the new gearbox controls.

The New Dacia Spring comes with a 7 kW AC charger as standard, which can charge the battery from 20% to 100% in less than 11 hours on a regular outlet or in just 4 hours on a 7 kW wall box. There’s also a 30 kW DC charger for fast charging from 20% to 80% in 45 minutes.

Now more practical than before, the new Spring EV has a bi-directional V2L (vehicle-to-load) charger, so it can be used as a power source for electrical devices. An adapter plugs into the car’s charging connector under the grille, acting as a traditional 220V/16A socket.

Perfectly Suited Range, Still As Simple

To introduce the All-New Spring EV, Dacia provides a wider range, giving customers more choices to find the model that fits their needs perfectly. Following the pattern of the brand’s other cars, a new mid-range Expression trim has been included between the Essential and Extreme trims.

  • Spring Essential: 7-inch digital instrument cluster, height-adjustable 3-spoke steering wheel, power steering, Media Control system with USB port, speed limiter, cruise control, steering wheel radio control, central locking with remote control, electric front windows, rear parking sensors, 12V socket.
  • Spring Expression: Same as Essential + manual air conditioning, 15-inch wheels.
  • Spring Extreme: Same as Expression + copper interior/exterior finishes, power rear mirrors and windows, Media Nav Live multimedia system with 10-inch centre screen, 2 USB ports and wireless connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, bi-directional charger.

Dacia Spring: Green NCAP 5 Stars And Best Car Green NCAP 2022

In August 2022, Dacia Spring was granted a top 5-star rating by Green NCAP. During the evaluation, Green NCAP assessed the vehicle’s effects on air quality, global warming, and energy efficiency. Spring performed exceptionally well in all categories, primarily due to its efficient energy use and minimal environmental impact.

On February 2, 2023, Green NCAP announced the Best Car Green NCAP 2022 award, and the lightweight Dacia Spring surpassed the larger competitors in the European electric vehicle market. This 5-star rating goes beyond symbolism – it acknowledges Dacia’s commitment to providing vehicles with the best price-performance ratio in the market and making them more environmentally friendly for as many people as possible.
