The ID.7 stands as the flagship model among electric Volkswagen vehicles—a forward-thinking fastback saloon with an extensive range. Volkswagen is now enhancing the ID.7 portfolio in Europe by introducing an estate car: the all-new VW ID.7 Tourer.

Representing one of the initial all-electric estate cars in the upper mid-sized class, it complements Volkswagen’s presence in this segment alongside the new Passat Variant. Together, both product lines cover a comprehensive range of drive types—from highly efficient petrol and diesel engines to plug-in hybrids with an anticipated electric range exceeding 100 kilometers and all-electric vehicles.
The VW ID.7 Tourer combines the environmental advantages of electric mobility with extended WLTP ranges (up to 685 km), a sophisticated cockpit design, exceptional travel comfort, and generous interior space, making it an ideal choice for business use. Pre-sales across Europe are set to commence in the first quarter of this year.
Versatile Electric Vehicle:
The ID.7 Tourer exhibits notable distinctions from the fastback saloon, particularly in the rear design. The extended roofline and its graceful transition to the trunk lid are particularly noteworthy design elements of this electric estate car. Stylistically, the Tourer seamlessly blends the characteristics of a traditional estate car in the vein of the Passat with the dynamic allure of a shooting brake, reminiscent of the Arteon.
The heightened rear contributes to an even more capacious luggage compartment compared to the fastback saloon: when carrying five passengers, the ID.7 Tourer boasts a luggage capacity of up to 605 liters (with the rear seat backrest in the cargo position). Loading up to the backrests of the front seats and extending up to the roof elevates this figure to an impressive 1,714 liters.
Up to 685 km WLTP Range:
The latest-generation electric drive system powers the new VW ID.7 Tourer, and Volkswagen will provide two battery size options for this electric touring car. Depending on the battery’s energy content, the VW ID.7 Tourer is anticipated to achieve WLTP ranges of up to 685 km. The largest battery is designed to support a maximum charging capacity of up to 200 kW at DC quick-charging stations, enabling a rapid recharge from 10 to 80 percent in significantly less than 30 minutes.
Standard AR Head-Up Display:
The innovative technological features of the new Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer include a standard augmented-reality (AR) head-up display. This display projects journey-relevant information into the driver’s field of vision, allowing them to keep their eyes on the road. Simultaneously, the AR head-up display transforms the cockpit architecture by compacting classic instruments.
Introducing the New Wellness In-Car App:
The ID.7 Tourer by Volkswagen takes comfort to a premium level, incorporating features such as automatically controlled vents with small motors, ergoActive seats featuring a novel pressure-point massage function, and automatic air conditioning. Another onboard innovation is the panoramic sunroof with smart glass technology, allowing electronic switching between opaque and clear states.
A noteworthy addition is the all-new Wellness In-Car app, enabling the adjustment of various vehicle functions through three preconfigured programs (Fresh Up, Calm Down, and Power Break). These programs are designed to enhance well-being during the journey or breaks. Depending on the vehicle’s equipment, the app has access to background lighting, sound, air conditioning, smart glass functionality, seat air conditioning and massage, as well as the ID.LIGHT and the infotainment screen.
