In January 2019, the current Suzuki Jimny made its long-awaited debut in Australia, with only one model that is available in both manual and automatic transmissions. The company has  now confirmed an additional variant to the line-up – the Jimny Lite.

The vehicle’s performance and engine characteristics are identical to those of the present Jimny, however the Jimny Lite will only be available with a manual transmission.

The Jimny Lite will be equipped with standard 15-inch steel wheels, which will continue to provide excellent stability and low rolling resistance.

The only other noteworthy aesthetic modifications from the present Jimny are plastic textured side mirror covers and Halogen projector headlights without conventional fog lamps.

In contrast to the Jimny’s regular Infotainment system, the Jimny Lite will be equipped with an in-dash Radio/CD player with standard Bluetooth connectivity, allowing calls and music to be streamed seamlessly. With manually operated climate control, air conditioning remains a standard feature.
