The cars remain mechanically the same. Both the models are powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine. This motor produces 114 PS @ 5,000 rpm and 150 Nm @ 1,800-4,500 rpm.

The twin-barrel exhaust system of the cars has been tuned to offer a sportier sound. The engine cover also gets JTP branding along with racetrack graphics.

The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission which has been tuned for better performance and compared to the regular model it gets different gear ratio and final drive ratio to offer better acceleration.

The Tata Tiago JTP & Tata Tigor JTP also get Sport and City drive modes. The Tiago JTP is said to be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.95-seconds, while the Tigor JTP does the same in 10.38 seconds.

Both cars also run on specially tuned suspension dampers. To improve the driving dynamics further, the steering system has been retuned. Compared to the normal variants the cars are lowered by 4 mm.

They are also fitted with wider tyres of size 185/60 on the sporty-looking 15-inch alloy wheels. Brake setup remains the same as the regular models but due to the updated tyres and the tuned suspension, the braking distance has reduced.
