Mercedes-Benz has launched the first-ever BS-VI compliant Long Wheelbase E-Class luxury business sedan in India. The new E-Class LWB is now available in E 200 & E 220d in two new variants – Expression and Exclusive.

The new Long wheelbase E-Class now includes an intuitive rear touchpad, Burmester high-end surround sound system, widescreen digital cockpit (12.3 inches) and a rear wireless charger.
The luxurious interior that was so far offered only with the top end E 350d trim, will now be offered across all variants on the E-Class. The upholstery has a vertical stitching pattern on the seats and more plush interiors.
The floor carpet colour and the upper dashboard in ARTICO contrast with the upholstery colour to give the most luxurious feel in the interiors. Additionally, high-quality velour floor mats add to the luxury quotient on the E-Class.
The Widescreen Cockpit is a futuristic-looking display with a 12.3-inch screen for the instrument display enhances the driving experience. It comes with 3 display styles – Classic, Sport and Progressive.
In “Classic” style, the display of the information is oriented towards that of an analogue instrument cluster, with the addition of the fascinating possibilities available with digital displays. With the “Sport” style, the displays feature yellow highlights and a sporty design. The “Progressive” setting captures the imagination with a futuristic style which enables the potential of the digital display to be experienced particularly intensely.
The Burmester surround sound system offers more performance and exclusivity. The high-performance speakers develop first-class surround sound. The occupants can specifically optimise it for the front and rear seats to intensify the listening experience.
The Burmester surround sound system comes with 13 speakers and a total system output of 590 watts. Sophisticated noise compensation (VNC) adjusts music and sound dynamically the driving conditions so to provide the best possible level of music enjoyment at all times.
The new E-Class LWB also comes with Wireless charging for mobile phones in the rear providing convenience to its customers. All mobile devices, which use the Qi standard are supported. Passengers at the back can also use the Rear Touchscreen to control media, climate and vehicle functionalities.
The new BS-VI complaint E-Class LWB is Mercedes-Benz’s first India specific car. India is the only country to have launched the RHD version of the ‘long wheelbase’ new E-Class.
The E 220d model features the 1950 cc, BS-VI complaint OM 654, in-line 4-cylinder, diesel engine that churns out 194 hp and 400 Nm of torque. It can do 0 -100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and achieve a top speed of up to 240 km/h.
The E 200 features the 1991 cc, BS-VI complaint, M 264 engine which makes 197 hp and 320 Nm of torque. With this motor, the luxury sedan can do 0 -100 km/h in 8 seconds. It can reach top speeds of up to 236 km/h.
Both the engines are mated to a 9G-TRONIC transmission. Other features of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB include Full LED Headlamps, PRE-SAFE, Parking Pilot with Active Parking Assist PARKTRONIC and reversing camera, Adaptive brake lights, ESP Curve Dynamic Assist and 7 airbags.
