Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has unveiled its latest subcompact SUV, the all-new Hyundai Venue. The SUV also made its world debut at the 2019 New York International Auto Show. It is claimed to be the first Made-in-India Connected SUV.
The Venue will launch in the Indian market on 21st May 2019. It will compete against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and the Ford EcoSport. The compact SUV measures 3995 mm length, 1770 mm in width, 1590 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2500 mm.
The Hyundai Venue for India will come with three engine options. The petrol variant will be powered by the 1.2-litre motor which would make 83hp and 115Nm of torque. It would be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
For diesel lovers there will be the 1.4-litre engine that puts out 90hp and 220Nm of torque. This unit will come coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission.
The top of the line variant would be powered by a new 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, direct-injection turbo petrol engine which would churn out 120hp and 172Nm of torque. This engine will be offered with a 6-speed manual as well as a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The launch of the Venue in India will also mark the introduction of Hyundai’s ‘Blue Link’ connected car technology, which offers 33 connected car features, of which 10 are India-specific.
The new Hyundai Venue will be feature rich and will come equipped with an air purifier, cruise control, projector headlamps with LED DRL, LED tail lamps, projector fog lamps and cornering lights. It will also get an electric sunroof, wireless charger, Arkamys sound driver and a cooled glovebox.
Safety features include ABS with EBD, 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), Brake Assist (BA) and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
