Sometime back we had shared a story about how a team of 12 students at Nihon Automotive Technology School (NATS) in Japan created a replica of the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 using a Suzuki Jimny as the base vehicle. This sparked an idea about how the new fourth generation Jimny would look like with the extra set of wheels and so here is, a digitally rendered image of the all-new Suzuki Jimny 6X6 Offroad Edition.

This Suzuki Jimny 6X6 Offroad Edition rendering gets the 6 wheel configuration along with all-terrain tyres and a lift kit to make sure the vehicle can tackle any kind of terrain and allow its occupants to explore anywhere they want to.
The modified Jimny also gets a new front grill with ‘SUZUKI’ lettering and a new front bumper. It also features wide wheel arches and comes in dual tone paint scheme which consists of desert sand and grey finishes.
The new generation of the iconic Jimny mini SUV has been introduced in two variants- Suzuki Jimny and the Jimny Sierra. The company might also launch other variants such as a pickup and cabriolet in future. Suzuki is said to have no plans in introducing a 5-door variant.
The new Suzuki Jimny is built on a body-on-frame structure. It has a no-frills boxy design which many say is inspired by the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Some tuners have used this resemblance to the luxury SUV and have started offering kits to make the Jimny look like the Mercedes SUV.
Inside too, the new Jimny gets a simple interior layout. Many parts have come from Suzuki’s existing car products such as the Ignis and Swift. The top of the line model of the SUV comes with many features such as automatic AC, keyless entry and engine start/stop button. It also gets dual front airbags, passenger, curtain and front seat side airbags, dual sensor brake support and cruise control.
Suzuki will be offering two powertrain options for the new Jimny. The first option is the 660 cc petrol engine for the Japanese market. It will be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. There is will be a part-time 4 Wheel Drive on offer as well.
The Jimny Sierra variant will get a 1500 cc petrol engine. This motor will be mated to either a 5-speed MT or a 4-speed AT. 4WD will be standard for this model.
