Station Wagon, Shooting Brake or Estate as they are known in some parts of the world is a very practical type of car body style. It is usually based on a hatchback or sedan version of a car where the vehicle is extended at the rear thereby increasing the cargo volume considerably.
Station Wagons even though practical haven’t been too popular in India like they have been in some other parts of the world. Earlier manufacturers used to launch estate variants of their sedans or hatches but discontinued doing so, due to low demand.
Some of the popular station wagons sold in India included the Tata Estate, Maruti Baleno Altura, Tata Indigo Marina, Opel Corsa Swing, etc. Currently, the closest thing you can get in this body style is the Datsun Go+ and a few compact MPVs such as the Ertiga, and the likes do come close.
Taking inspiration from the previous gen Baleno Altura estate, the same formula was applied to the latest new generation Suzuki Baleno hatchback to create this station wagon rendering. As can be seen in the image, the roof has been extended towards the rear along with the cargo space to increase the volume behind the rear seats. Other things remain similar to the hatchback version.
Along with the regular version of the Baleno Station Wagon, a virtually tuned variant has also been rendered. In this rendering, we can see that the car has been lowered and wears a sporty body kit.
It has also been fitted with aftermarket sporty looking black alloy wheels as well. Twin pinstripe lines run across the length of the car following the liquid flow design language. There is also a graphic element towards the bottom of the car giving a visual break to the large body surfaces.
Hope you liked this render of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno Station Wagon. Do share your thoughts, ideas and suggestions about it in the comments section.
