Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), leading manufacturer of passenger cars in India has launched its highly-awaited new model, Honda WR-V. The WR-V is an all-new sporty lifestyle vehicle based on the globally successful Honda Jazz platform.
The crossover is the first model developed by Honda R&D India along with Honda R&D Japan, to match with the demands and desires of modern Indian customers who are looking for status, comfort and have an active lifestyle. The R&D in India has specifically worked on design & engineering concept suitable for right-hand drive and India-exclusive powertrains.
The Honda WR-V is offered in two variant S and VX and is available with a choice of 6 colour options: Premium Amber Metallic (New), White Orchid Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic and Carnelian Red Pearl.

The new Honda WR-V has a striking road presence. The chrome front grill with solid wing face along with the headlamp integrated signature LED DRLs & position lamps give it a bold look. The large glass area offers excellent driver visibility and sense of space for all occupants. The all-around black cladding accentuates its crossover characteristics. Both front and rear bumpers sport a silver coloured skid plate. The WR-V also comes with a first-in-segment electric sunroof with one-touch open/close function and auto reverse.
Additional key exterior features include 16-inch alloy wheels in gunmetal finish, split type rear combination lamps, front fog lamps, LED high mount stop lamp, turn indicator on ORVM, silver finished roof rail garnish and chrome door handles.
The new Honda WR-V comes with 2 interior colour themes – Urban Casual: Black and Bluish grey seat fabric and Urban Sophisticated: Black & Silver seat fabric. Based on Honda’s Man Maximum Machine Minimum concept, the WR-V offers a large amount of space.
Key interior design features include Advanced Multi-information combination meter with LCD display, Eco Assist ambient rings on combimeter, user-friendly smart interface for automatic climate control, silver finished AC vents, door ornaments and dashboard ornaments, intelligent storage spaces, front centre armrest designed to fit tablets and iPads USB plug and accessory socket, front console box with separate pocket, 3 cup holders and 4 bottle holders.

The all-new Honda WR-V is offered with both petrol and diesel engines. The WR-V diesel is powered by a 1.5L DOHC iDTEC engine that generates 100PS of power and a torque of 200 Nm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Honda claims a fuel mileage of 25.5 kmpl.
The Honda WR-V petrol is provided with a 1.2L SOHC iVTEC engine which produces 90 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque. The company claims a fuel economy of 17.5 kmpl. This engine is coupled with a newly developed 5-speed manual transmission to maximise the performance.
Honda has also tweaked the suspension of WR-V to match the active lifestyle of the customers, thus providing high ground clearance, greater roll stability and improved rigidity for better handling performance.
The WR-V comes with Honda’s Digipad – a 17.7cm Advanced Infotainment system which has features like In-built Satellite-Linked Turn-by-turn Navigation, Internal Media Memory of 1.5GB, Mirror Link support for Smartphone Connectivity, Internet access for browsing, email and live traffic via optional Wifi receiver, Smartphone Voice Assistant Activation, Voice Commands for media, navigation and calling, Bluetooth for handsfree telephone and audio streaming support, AM/FM Digital Radio Tuner, MP3/WAV, i-Pod, two Micro SD card slots for maps and media, HDMI-IN port, steering mounted controls for HFT, audio and voice command.
Among other features the WR-V is also equipped with Automatic Climate Control with Touch Control Panel, Honda Smart Key System with Keyless Remote, Electronic Power Steering (EPS) – Tilt and Telescopic. One Push Start/Stop Button with white and red illumination and Cruise Control are available only for the diesel version.
WR-V is equipped with a wide range of Honda’s active and passive safety technologies, which are provided as standard equipment across all variants. These include Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACETM) Body Structure, Dual SRS front airbags, Anti-lock braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Impact mitigating front head rest, Pedestrian injury mitigation technology, Intelligent Pedal (Brake Over-Ride System), Multi-angle rearview camera with guidelines.
Deliveries of the Honda WR-V will begin immediately. The crossover comes with 3 years/Unlimited Kilometres warranty as standard. Additionally, customers can opt for Extended Warranty for 2 years/Unlimited kilometres for extra peace of mind.
