The Ford Maverick has quickly developed a loyal following, becoming one of the most customizable platforms in the compact pickup segment. The moment the 2.0-liter EcoBoost Maverick hit the streets, the enthusiast community started the countdown. Not to see when it would sell out; it did that instantly but to see how long it would take to tune it, lower it, and unlock its inner performance car.
For years, driveway-built street trucks have been popping up at shows and flooding forums. The Maverick, with its unibody chassis and punchy turbo-four, was a blank canvas begging for more power.
Now, Ford is officially joining the party.
At SEMA 2025, the brand is showcasing the Ford Maverick 300T, a Ford Custom Garage Project Vehicle that represents the new “turnkey” street truck. This isn’t just a SEMA concept; Ford Performance has announced plans to make a version of the 300T project kit available to customers in 2026.

A Mustang Heart Transplant
This is not a simple software tune. The 300T package is a comprehensive hardware upgrade, and the headline number is a 300-horsepower estimate, with 317 lb-ft of torque. That’s a staggering 50-horsepower and 40 lb-ft jump over the stock 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine.
To get there, Ford Performance didn’t reinvent the wheel. They simply raided the company’s most legendary parts bin. The centerpiece of the 300T kit is the turbocharger pulled directly from the 2.3-liter EcoBoost Mustang.
This proven turbo features a significantly larger 59mm compressor wheel, up from the 53mm wheel on the stock Maverick unit. But bolting on a bigger turbo is only half the battle. To manage the new power and, more importantly, the heat, the kit includes critical supporting hardware:
- Massive Intercooler: A Mishimoto front-mount intercooler that is 58.8% larger than stock. This is the package’s secret weapon.
- ProCal 4 Tune: A new Ford Performance ProCal 4 calibration to tie all the new hardware together and manage the engine parameters.
- Borla Exhaust: A performance Borla cat-back exhaust to let the bigger turbo breathe freely (and give the Maverick the aggressive soundtrack it deserves).
That new intercooler is critical. It delivers a 39.6% increase in temperature reduction and a 20.1% reduction in pressure drop. For the driver, this means a system that resists heat soak, delivering consistent, reliable power, pull after pull.
Even better? The entire package is being designed to be CARB certified and 50-state (and Canada) legal.
More Than Just a Straight-Line Star
Anyone can make a truck fast in a straight line. The Ford Performance team clearly wanted the Maverick 300T to be a complete package that could actually handle.
The project vehicle’s entire chassis has been reworked:
- Aggressive Stance: A new set of performance-tuned lowering springs drops the truck 10mm in the front and a full 30mm in the rear, lowering its center of gravity.
- Upgraded Dampers: To control the new ride height, the stock rear dampers are replaced with high-performance monotube units.
- Stiffer Rear: A beefed-up rear stabilizer bar (increased from 29.9 N/mm to 34.7 N/mm) is added to reduce body roll and sharpen turn-in.
The package is designed to improve compression and rebound damping, giving the driver better vehicle control whether the bed is loaded or empty.
This new, buttoned-down suspension rides on a set of 20-inch Mach-E GT wheels. While the SEMA show truck wears Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires for maximum visual appeal, the team notes the final package will be paired with Pirelli P ZERO ELECT performance rubber.

The Looks to Match
A street truck has to have presence. The 300T package will be offered in two signature color schemes: Black or Bronze.
Both packages include unique “300T” graphics, official Ford Performance badges on the fenders, grille, and floor mats, and black chrome lug nuts. The Bronze package, however, adds striking bronze Maverick lettering on the tailgate for a premium, custom look.
Built from Community Feedback
This project wasn’t born in a vacuum. Matthew Simpson, Ford’s Executive Director of Accessories and Personalization, and his team confirmed the 300T was born from talking with Maverick customers.
More than that, the team admitted to “late nights scrolling through Reddit and Ford Maverick Truck Club forums,” watching exactly how owners were personalizing their trucks. The community’s passion and ingenuity directly inspired this official package.

The Fine Print: Who Can Get It?
This isn’t for every Maverick. The Maverick 300T Project Vehicle kit is being designed for:
- 2025 Maverick XL, XLT, and Lariat models
- Required: 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine
- Required: All-Wheel Drive
Ford also recommends the 4K tow package. While the kit can be fitted without it, the 4K package provides crucial extra cooling for the transmission—a very smart move when adding 50 horsepower.
Just the Beginning
The Maverick 300T is more than just a single kit; it’s a statement of intent from the new Ford Custom Garage. It signals a new “playbook” where the brand obsesses over customer passions and then “turns them up to 11.”
For the thousands of Maverick owners who knew this truck had performance potential, validation has finally arrived. And it’s wearing a Mustang’s turbo.
