The first product from the Suzuki-Toyota alliance has hit the Indian roads with the introduction of the Toyota Glanza. The new model is a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Baleno. With this launch, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has marked its entry into one of the highest growing segments in the Indian auto market which is that of the premium hatchback.

The name Glanza is derived from a German word which means Brilliancy or Radiance or Sparkle. The new Toyota Glanza will be built at the same factory as the Maruti Baleno. Apart from the change in the logos and the front grill the Glanza is almost identical to the Baleno.
Toyota is offering the Glanza with a warranty of 3year/100K kms & extended upto 5 year/2.2 Lakh kms along with the ‘Toyota ownership’ experience, Q-Service app utilization and Toyota Connect facilities, apart from attractive finance schemes.
The Glanza comes in 4 variants – G MT, V MT, G CVT and V CVT. The hatchback is powered by BS-VI compliant, 4-cylinder, 1.2L K-Series engines. The G MT variant makes 90 PS @ 6000 rpm and 113 Nm @ 4400 rpm. It is equipped with a 5-speed transmission and Advanced Lithium-Ion Battery with ISG (Integrated Starter Generator). It also comes with Torque Assist Function, idle start-stop function, Brake energy regeneration function for enhanced fuel efficiency.
The V MT, G CVT and V CVT variants make 83 PS @ 6000 rpm and 113 Nm @ 4200 rpm. The manual variant comes with a 5-speed gearbox while the automatic model gets a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
The new Toyota Glanza features LED Projector Headlamps with DRL & Follow me-Home/Car function with Auto Headlamps, a 3D front grill and 16-inch Diamond cut alloy wheels. The car also comes with a 7-inch Smart Playcast, Touchscreen Infotainment system that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets Steering Mounted Audio & Calling Controls with Voice command and an Interactive TFT Multi-Information Colour Display.
Other feature includes Dual Tone Interior, Keyless Smart Entry with Engine Push Start / Stop button, 60:40 Split Rear Seats, Electrochromic inner rear view mirror, ORVM Electric Adjust & Retract + Auto Fold, Driver & Co-Driver Sunvisor with Vanity Mirror & Lamp and Automatic AC.
