Maruti Suzuki has unveiled its showstopper for the Auto Expo 2018 – the Future-S Concept. It gives us a glimpse of how the new compact cars from the company will look like.
The Maruti Future-S Concept has been designed completely in-house by the Maruti Suzuki design team in India.
“Compact is the natural choice of India’s car customers. Compact needs a fresh design language, one that is bold, confident and dynamic. Our designers have created this brand new design, aggressive on the outside, and bold and inviting interiors. Nothing like this has ever been attempted before on a vehicle this size. ConceptFutureS will define the next generation of design for compact vehicles in India”, said Mr Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki.
The Future-S has an upright stance and aggressive stance and posture. The front end consists of sleek LED headlamps and squarish fog lamp enclosures. The grill is made up of hexagonal holes below which lies a prominent bumper with a massive protector in silver finish.
The A-pillar gets a unique treatment and forms the border for the curved windshield. The high ground clearance and the flat hood along with pearl white accents give this micro urban car its SUV characteristics.
Moving to the side, the barn style doors open up to reveal a very futuristic interior which is finished in bright orange and ivory white. The rear, similar to the front gets sleek LED tail lamps. The Future-S concept rides on massive two-tone 5-spoke alloy wheels.
The production version of the Maruti Future-S Concept will be a compact car with distinct SUV like characters with a bold presence and will compete with the likes of the Renault Kwid and Datsun Redi-go.
