Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the country’s second largest car manufacturer and leading passenger car exporter has unveiled the much awaited 5th generation Hyundai Verna in the country. The mid-size sedan is slated for launch on August 22, 2017, and bookings have already started.
The Next Gen Hyundai Verna utilizes a Super Body Structure frame which is built out of 50% Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS). It will be available with a choice of a diesel as well as a petrol powertrain.
The new diesel model of the Verna will be equipped with the 1.6 litre U2 CRDi VGT engine which will develop 128 PS while the petrol variant will come with the 1.6-litre Dual VTVT engine which produces 123 PS. Both engines will come with an option of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The 2017 Hyundai Verna adorns the company’s new design language and features the signature Cascading Front Grille, projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps (DRL), LED powered tail lamps and Diamond cut alloy wheels.
Inside the new Verna will come with a 7-inch touchscreen AVN with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, rear aircon vents, six airbags, automatic climate control, an electric sunroof, cruise control and ventilated front seats.
The 5th generation Hyundai Verna is built on the all-new K2 platform and has been engineered to deliver superior ride and handling. The company claims that the suspension has been tuned for enhanced cornering and high-speed stability. The rear suspension geometry has been modified for a stable and comfortable ride for rear passengers.
