The new Triumph Street Triple S incorporates the ‘nose down focused attitude’ and features aggressive lines, new bodywork and a new sportier twin-seat design. The motorcycle also features new LED position light headlights which are 4.6 times brighter than the previous generation bulb sidelight.

Powering the 2017 Triumph Street Triple S is a 765 cc Daytona derived race-bred engine. This motor produces 113 PS of power at 11,250 rpm which is a 41% increase compared to the previous model. The torque figures have also increased by 30% and it now produces 73 Nm at 10,421 rpm. Triumph India will also launch the more powerful R and RS variants before the year ends.

The 2017 Triumph Street Triple S also gets an improved 6-speed gearbox with shorter 1st and 2nd gear ratios for better acceleration. The street fighter bike is fitted with a revised airbox which gives it a deeper and richer roar. The new exhaust system delivers better performance along with reducing the bike’s overall weight.

The new bike weighs 166 kg and is said to be the lightest in its segment. It features specially designed all-new gullwing rear swingarm which results in increased longitudinal torsional stiffness, and reduction in lateral stiffness. This maximises the stability of the bike at higher speeds.

The Street Triple S rides on Showa upside-down 41mm separate function front forks with 110 mm travel and a stepped preload-adjustable piggyback reservoir mono shock rear suspension unit.

Stopping power for the Street Triple S comes from the Nissin 2-piston sliding callipers on the front and a Brembo single piston sliding calliper on the back. It is also fitted with the high-performance Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tyres for excellent grip.

Street Triple S will be available with two colour options – Diablo Red or Phantom Black. Customers will able to choose from more than 60 accessories for the bike. Triumph India expects to sell about 250-300 units of the bike this year and is said to have already received around 40 bookings for it.
