Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has launched the all new 2017 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade and CBR1000RR Fireblade SP in the country. The company has started accepting booking orders for the superbikes.
The superbikes will arrive as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) in India. Customers willing to own this flagship motorcycle from the Japanese motorcycle maker can order from Honda’s exclusive Wing World outlets which are situated in Mumbai and Delhi or can log on to the Honda2WheelersIndia.com website.
The launch of the 2017 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP also marks 25 years since the original model was introduced. It changed how motorcycles were made in the SuperSport segment. The new model was first unveiled at the EICMA 2016 in Milan, Italy.
The all-new 2017 CBR1000RR is lighter, more powerful and faster than any CBR1000RR. It is powered by a 999cc in-line four cylinder engine which produces 189 bhp at 13000 rpm and 114 Nm at 11000 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed transmission.
Under the philosophy of ‘Total Control’, Honda has focused on improving the handling and agility of the motorcycles. 90% of the main components have been revised, resulting in a 16kg weight reduction. This Supersport Honda bike has a full-color TFT liquid crystal display which is inspired by the RC213V-S, a street legal version of Honda’s MotoGP bike and gets a full LED lighting package.
The 2017 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade is equipped with an impressive electronic control package. It features a new gyroscopic ABS system, Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD), Throttle by Wire (TBW), Selectable Engine Brake (SEB), 9 Level Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and Power Selector. All these parameters can be precisely adjusted with the Riding Mode Select System (RMSS).
The 2017 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP gets some additional goodies. It is the first Honda motorcycle to be equipped with the fully-adjustable, semi-active Ohlins Electronic Control (S-EC) suspension that comes with three pre-set suspension modes, plus two user-programmable modes. The CBR1000RR Fireblade SP also gets Quickshifter (Downshift Assist), new 5-spoke rims, Titanium Fuel Tank and Lithium-Ion battery.
